Yippee-Pie-Yay: It's Pie Season
There’s something about the scent of a pie baking that feels like a warm hug from the past — the buttery crust crisping in the oven, the sweet filling bubbling up just so, the promise of that first slice shared around the table. Pie season isn’t just about dessert — it’s about slowing down, gathering close, and celebrating the small, delicious labors of love that bring us together. Every homemade pie carries a little bit of history — a recipe passed down, a memory rekindled, a new tradition begun.
Because when the air turns crisp and the ovens glow warm, it’s not just pie we’re making — it’s memories.
This year, Melissa has four irresistible new favorites to make your holiday table shine. Each one captures the spirit of the season — cozy, comforting, and made with love you can taste.

I can’t wait to try these recipes. I am so intimidated with making pies and rely on homemade bread as my offering for family dinners. I have purchased the covered wagon pie plate and a quilted pie carrier, and am excited to put them to good use with these amazing recipes! Thank you Melissa for all that you do to encourage women to try new things and enjoy their lives in new ways 💗
Holidays, to me, always meant my grandmother’s pumpkin pies and yeast rolls that melted in your mouth. The pie recipe came from her mother, so, no doubt, it goes back a few generations. She always made her own crust, which I’ve never been brave enough to try, but I’ve been making her pumpkin pies for over 45 years. I cherish the handwritten recipes I have from her, my mother, and mother in law. The secret to her pie was separating the eggs. After the filling is finished, beat the egg whites and gently fold them in to the mixture before pouring into the pie shell. It’s the lightest, fluffiest pumpkin pie EVER. But I can’t wait to try my hand at Melissa’s pies. They all sound delicious! And I may be brave enough to try making my own crust. Homemade crust is always better than frozen!
I can’t wait to make these for my family!
Instead of using refine sugar I add real maple syrup instead for a sweetener for my pumpkin pie like 1/2 cup so good
