Get Outside: Scavenger Hunt Bingo [free download]
The willows along the pond have gone soft and yellow, the cardinals are putting on a full show from every fencepost, and Modern Prairie decided it was high time to send everyone outside with something to do.
So we made Spring Bingo: a scavenger hunt printed on a bingo card!
Twenty-four small wonders of the outdoors waiting to be spotted, plus a Free Space in the middle for good measure. The first player to find five in a row wins, though the real prize is the half hour you'll spend looking up at the treetops instead of down at a screen.

Print out this set of four cards. A small basket and a pen for each forager makes it feel official — you can get these handmade garden baskets the ladies are carrying below, in case you'd like one of your own — but a pocket and a stub of pencil work just as well.

How to Play
- Print a card for each player. Black-and-white is fine; the goal is being outside, not winning a print quality contest.
- Head outside together. A backyard, a park, a hiking trail, a grandmother's farm. Anywhere with a little wild in the corners.
- Spot, don't take. Mark off a square every time you find something in real life. Leave the fiddleheads and the frogs alone.
- First five in a row wins. Horizontal, vertical, or diagonal. Call "Bingo!" loudly so everyone has to stop walking.
- Winner picks the picnic spot. Or the next adventure. Or who has to carry the basket home.
For grandkids, this is a small miracle. They run, they point, they wear themselves out properly. For grown-ups, it is permission to wander slow.
Tips for a Better Hunt
- Bring water and a wide-brim hat if the sun is bright.
- Take pictures of your finds. A field full of Spring Bingo photos is its own small joy.
- Play with phones in pockets. The fresh air is the whole point.
Wherever your hunt takes you, we hope you come home with grass-stained boots, a heart-shaped rock in your pocket, and a story about the time someone tried to claim a dandelion as a spring wildflower (it absolutely counts).
Happy hunting from all of us at Modern Prairie.

What a fun creative way to get outside and enjoy the outdoor!
Download but unfortunately will have to wait since we are going into Winter in Australia. But it is a super idea.
I am planning a hiking trip with my grands. This is going to be a great addition to our activities! Thank you!
How fun for adults and kids alike.
My ladies group may do this!
