Meet Bright Endeavors

Bright Endeavors was founded by two female social entrepreneurs in 2007. In 2010, they merged with New Moms, a non-profit in the Austin neighborhood of Chicago that provides wraparound services for young moms, including housing and family support programs.

Light the way! Bright Endeavors is a social enterprise of New Moms where young moms, ages 18-24, participate in a transitiional, paid job training program. Through hand crafting home fragrance products, these young women gain job skills, a professional network and the confidence to ‘light the way’ toward their goals. 100% of the proceeds support their mission of empowering young moms through their job training program. New Moms strengthens families by partnering with young moms as they progress toward housing stability, economic mobility, and family well being. New Moms and Bright Endeavors envision a future where every young family thrives and they are making such an impact.

The Modern Prairie team was so excited to find this organization and support their mission of empowering young moms. The bonus is that their candles are fantastic and they smell wonderful and will make a perfect addition to your home. We’ve also partnered with them to create a special, custom candle for us which is absolutely beautiful. In September we visited their site and spent the morning understanding how this incredible organization works. They are an example of amazing women coming together and supporting one another – it was truly inspiring.

Each morning the team gathers together to talk about their goals for the day and check in with one another. They are responsible for sharing a quote that sets the tone for the day – when we visited it was from Isaac Newton. “If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.” This moved us deeply as it exemplified the mission of the company, young moms supporting each other, raising them up to accomplish their goals.
